Morgan Tsvangirai - A Life MisLived.

First Anniversary Special.

 By Hosia Mviringi

Thursday, 14 February 2019.

Today is to many people a day to celebrate love and have fun with family and loved ones. Its St Valentine's day.Whatever it means..

Yes its just as blessed a day as any other. We see the love of God each day when we rise to see the sun.
To me everyday is a lovely day and I have a duty to fulfil my love obligations to my family and friends.

But on this day while some celebrate the gift of life and love  some do remember the sad loss of their loved ones. One such family that may not celebrate love on this day is the Tsvangirai family.

They lost a son, father, brother, keeper and bread winner and pillar of strength.Ms Elizabeth Macheka lost a lover and companion on this day.

The MDC family lost a leader, 'visionary' and 'hero'.Yes I call him hero because he was one to his immediate family and of course his family in politics.Of course we hold different meanings to the word hero. Some even worshiped and adored him. Some idolised him as the best ever thing to happen in their lifetime. Some could even see their next day in him.

Yet others see a traitor in him.
You will get to know how I percieve Morgan Tsvangirai if you choose to read on.

We still have to celebrate and respect our diversity in opinion and perception. We are created that way.

Who was Morgan Tsvangirai ? He was the beautiful baby who shone a light in his mother's eyes when he was born.He brought unexplained joy to his family upon his arrival to this plannet of argony. He was innocent.

He lived his life quietly until he discovered the art of politics.

Rising from the workers' union activism he found himself in politics and in 1999 he became the face of the newest political party in Zimbabwe.

The MDC became the face of neocolonialism in Zimbabwe.Mr Morgan Tsvangirai was seen recieving cheques from queing white farmers on the back of a promise to return the farmland to the white colonial masters should he win elections. This went on for years and predictably Tsvangirai and his friends in the MDC became addicted to this dirty money.

The white community in Zimbabwe and internationally predictably invested a lot of money in the MDC project in vain. This is the sole reason of the Whiteman's bitterness each time the MDC loses an election.

So naturally its not surprising if the very imbittered white community continues to sponsor some clandestine activities locally designed to incite an uprising. They indeed can do anything here with the aid of a willing local proxy in the mould of the MDC Alliance and its leadership.

They still hope to make a recovery on their investment into the MDC project for over twenty years now..

This hand is clearly visible now in the Civic Society sector, which has become the new weapon of aggression against the government and the people of Zimbabwe.

It had become a normal way of life for Tsvangirai to recieve tokens and cash in exchange for his own country and legacy.
He literally auctioned his legacy for a pittance.

Honestly what could be more important to an individual than total ownership of your motherland and all resource endowments thereunder ? How much is this land of our birth worth in the eyes of a sellout ?

I would have thought that every responsible citizen would sit down and consider the value of the land he intends to sell ? If it was a worthless piece of desolate land why would the whiteman be paying for it ? How does one consider themselves sufficient enough not to need any land to build a cabin ? If this money could buy land honestly why would the white farmers not go and purchase the land esewhere where they consider habitable ?

Why would the white man sponsor a fellow black man to fight against his own black destiny ? Why ?

Tsvangirai recieved thirty pieces of silver in exchange for his children's inheritance. What a selfish father he makes today !
Just a mere thought can drive you to the edge with disgust.

Tsvangirai went on to incite all those who cared to listen to refuse land during the ensuing land reform. Most of them still regret ever following his advice. They missed out on a golden opportunity to own a means of production for posterity.

What else on this earth can replace the secure feeling of possessing one's own piece of land ?

Tsvangirai was a sefish leader who did not even qualify to hold any national leadership position. He did not possess any moral locus standi to lecture anyone on nationhood let alone represent our collective national interest at the level of national government.Zimbabweans didnt need to wage another resistence struggle against their own blood.Zimbabweans wasted a good twenty years fighting a proxy war against imperialism as fronted by our own blood.

There are many reasons for opposing the government and our democracy allows for difference and divergence of opinion. There are many points of departure that can justify opposition activism in Zimbabwe.

But it remains unforgivable for a citizen to be used as a willing afront to nationhood. Its unforgivable for one to represent foreign interests in opposition to the very foundation of nationhood.

The war of liberation was waged for the sole purpose of pushing back the colonial settlers who had driven our fathers to uninhabitable regions of this country.

How could one person muster the bravery to trade / to auction the blood of millions who perished to liberate this land from the yoke of oppression ?
Zvechokwadi washinga here Tsvangirai ? Hana yako hairovi here ?

Ko nhaiwe Chamisa.Haunawo here zvaungaite kuti ubvise chigamba chitema chawakasiyirwa na Tsvangirai ichi ?

I am only asking the MDC Alliance successor president Nelson Chamisa to depart from this legacy of toxic, destructive and selfish politics.

Its not all about yourself but for the generality of Zimbabwean citizens whose livelihoods have been robbed over the years.
Of course unless you are the real Devil re-encarnate.

You should have already thrown away your conscience through the window. You care less about the people you seek to govern.

Now Zimbabwe has to graple with the burden of sanctions as called for by one of our own.Morgan Tsvangirai , Tendai Biti, Nelson Chamisa , David Coltart and many other gullible and selfish actors within the MDC party lobbied for the sanctions that inflict the general citizenry of this country since 2001.They actually drafted ZDERA ,the bill that gave birth to an enduring sanctions regime against Zimbabwe.

In America it is treasonous for a citizen to colaborate with foreigners to cause harm or to bring suffering upon its citizens. Its unheard of that an American citizen can go around the world campaigning to have punitive measures imposed upon the their native land.

Morgan Tsvangirai became a heartless money monger who could anything to extract the smallest change from the imperialist sponsor.
He sold his soul to the devil.

Up to his death Tsvangirai never found it in himself to make a confession and call for the lifting of the ruinous sanctions regime imposed on the nation of Zimbabwe on his behest.
He celebrated our suffering all the way into the grave.
I find it very hard to forgive him.

Its unAfrican I know to hold a grudge against the departed. But how does it help me or anybody for that matter to pretend ?

Wafa wanaka yes they say in native Shona dialect. It means we should not speak ill of the departed. But whats there to celebrate about the life lived by Morgan Tsvangirai ? Its only the truth that can set us free isnt it ?

Tsvangirai bequeathed an unenviable legacy of suffering on the back of sanctions , violence and intolerance upon the nation of Zimbabwe.A whole generation was lost in two decades and we can never recover thencefro.

Children who were born twenty years ago are now adults yet they never enjoyed their childhood.
Most died young due to disease and mulnutrition while those that survived didnt have a good education. Those that were lucky to go to school are out now but they never got a job to improve their livelihoods.
Some were forced into early marriages and were devoured by vultures. Some were forced into prostitution and their lives damned.

A twenty year developmental gap is not easy to fill.

Does Zimbabwe have a price tag? Now this is the legacy that Chamisa has taken over and still seeks to advance and sustain. What sin did the people of Zimbabwe commit in God's eyes ? A long time ago God used to bring out a people from captivity through his native Prophets like Moses.

The people of Zimbabwe have experienced the opposite.Prophets of doom have risen from amongst us.We are indeed a cursed generation. When we thought we could start again, here we are, pots and plates are now full of sand.

I wish I could speak to God directly and plead our case or is it our curse.God must explain to the people of Zimbabwe if this is new kind of liberation which come with such suffering and dispossession of our God given land and resources.

Saka ndati sei, sei kwatiri mambo ? Why upon us oh God ? Maybe its time to wage a new battle against these self appointed agents of oppression and imperialism.

Lala ngokuthula Tsvangirai.Rest in Peace Tsvangirai. But you are not my hero. You wont be missed.

Kutsho mina !

After 23 years, UK-ZIM relations thawing

#SundayMussings  Prof. Jonathan Moyo It's International Relations 101 that a penchant for and infatuation with trivialities is not part of diplomacy, it's trivial pursuit. With this in mind, one does not have to hold a brief for anyone to understand that the coronation of King Charles III was essentially a showcase of an archaic and obnoxious tradition of hereditary rule - frowned upon in most parts of the world now under republican rule of one sort or another, while still a big deal in the United Kingdom of once upon a time, Great Britain - that dates back some 1,000 years ago. There’s therefore nothing geopolitically significant or even interesting about that primitive culture, where someone called Charles was crowned head of state by virtue of his birth at a ceremony where "His Majesty's Government" had no qualms about displaying the full repertoire of imperial loot like the stolen African Star and majestic gold from former British colonies, many of whose lead...

In defence of Lindiwe Sisulu - SA Constitution not Sacred, Judges not demi-gods

Professor Arthur Mutambara The SA Constitution is not Sacred and SA Judges are not Demigods.   By Arthur Guseni Oliver Mutambara 13 January 2022   Minister Lindiwe Sisulu penned an opinion piece on 7 January 2022 titled: ‘Hi Mzansi, have we seen justice?’  It was quite a refreshing critique of the challenges confronting South Africa.  Sisulu’s right to express herself and the content of her remarks must be vigorously defended without equivocation or ambiguity. On 8 January 2022, soon after I read the opinion piece, I publicly expressed the following remarks: ‘Wow, what a piece by Lindiwe Sisulu. I am pleasantly surprised that some in the ANC still get it and are prepared to articulate it eloquently. The issue is how to get such incisive thinking to influence the ANC and the country's direction. Is it a lost cause?’ I stand by these utterances. There has been quite several articles and remarks attacking Minister Sisulu. The ba...
LAWYERS DEMO : DELIVERY OF JUSTICE OR PROTECTING THE CASH COW ?   By Hosia Mviringi 31 January 2019 On 29 January 2019 the nation woke up to the news that Lawyers under the banner of the Law Society of Zimbabwe was demonstrating against lack of or misdelivery of justice in the Courts in Zimbabwe. I write this article with a heavy heart knowing that my brother is a loyal member of the fraternity.I will try to be professional and speak my mind. What baffles the mind is the fact that the Lawyers are officers of the same Courts which they have served under the Law Society of Zimbabwe in defence of the accused for many years since independence. They have not seen this so called misdelivery of justice until only yesterday after the violent demonstration of the 14th of January 2019. What has changed now to warrant the demonstration by the Lawyers against the same Courts to which they have served or are serving as officers and partners ? Lets try to unpack the conundrum. Soon...
