Demos Expose Women : ZWIPA.

Zimbabwe Women in Politics Alliance notes with concern the growing culture by the Elite politicians of continuously exposing women to vulnerable situations in the name of demonstrations.

Research has shown that the demonstrations lack merit, sincerity and meaningful taste as it is a known fact that there are ulterior motives beyond what the protests are supposed to achieve. Poorly planned protests have been yielding negative results to the detriment of women who often face abuse in the process.

Women are the natural caregivers to those that would have been injured during these demonstrations.

Whilst women have got dozens of packed problems the same politicians have never initiated a meaningful campaign to promote and defend women's rights. Instead they are on record of abusing and harassing them physically and sexually.

If Politicians who are mainly men in the lead were sincere about women's issues, we wouldn't be crying over our constitutionally given 50/50 consideration today. Women have been reduced to mere brooms for men and patriarchal gatekeepers.
Today they are a tool used to shield men in their selfish agendas in the form of Power Games disguised as peaceful demonstrations.

Women have burning issues neglected by these male politicians and should wake up and begin to focus on the struggle of their own not to become full time victims of political power mongers.

Women have been historically marginalized for a long time, sidelined in women's assemblies and in political parties and sexually harassed at the workplace.

As ZWIPA we declare 2019 as the women's year to move out of their fake comfort zones and ensure gender balance as enshrined in section 17 of the constitution of Zimbabwe.

Women constitute 54% of the population of Zimbabwe yet they remain marginalized, poor and abused. We will not tolerate any form of abuse against women and misogyny in 2019.

Dambudzo Marechera: Letter to white ex-girlfriend

BELOW is a letter written by Dambudzo Marechera to his white ex-girlfriend, Samantha. The letter was written after Marechera had been expelled from Oxford University. Interesting read. Dear Samantha I think by now you have heard what happened when those hypocrites in administration chased me from their white university giving me an option between being sectioned or expelled. I chose the latter, a decision which shocked them out of their warped wits. I have forgiven them because together with you they thought as an African student from some remote Southern African country I was privileged for receiving tertiary education at Oxford, a learning institution they have overrated as a citadel of knowledge just like Cambridge or Harvard. It is such  academic mad houses that  keep on churning out arrogant, snobbish, hypocritical and pea-minded bastards who enter the world with the superior airs of holier-than-thou, we and them attitude calling themselves Doctors, Professors or a...

After 23 years, UK-ZIM relations thawing

#SundayMussings  Prof. Jonathan Moyo It's International Relations 101 that a penchant for and infatuation with trivialities is not part of diplomacy, it's trivial pursuit. With this in mind, one does not have to hold a brief for anyone to understand that the coronation of King Charles III was essentially a showcase of an archaic and obnoxious tradition of hereditary rule - frowned upon in most parts of the world now under republican rule of one sort or another, while still a big deal in the United Kingdom of once upon a time, Great Britain - that dates back some 1,000 years ago. There’s therefore nothing geopolitically significant or even interesting about that primitive culture, where someone called Charles was crowned head of state by virtue of his birth at a ceremony where "His Majesty's Government" had no qualms about displaying the full repertoire of imperial loot like the stolen African Star and majestic gold from former British colonies, many of whose lead...
The MDC Congress : What it means for ZANU PF Party, Government and the Nation of Zimbabwe . Saturday, 25 May 2019   By Hosia Mviringi On the 24th of May 2019 the MDC Party led by Nelson Chamisa converged at Ascot Stadium in the Midlands city of Gweru for their inaugural Ordinary Congress since the departure from natural causes of its iconic  founding President Mr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. The background is that before he passed on Mr Morgan Tsvangirai did the unprecedented thing when he unilaterally and unconstitutionally appointed two extra Vice Presidents in addition to the 2014 Congress appointed Thokozani Khupe. This unilateral and unconstitutional appointment gave birth to Chamisa who before then was afar distant in the succession matrix of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU)-backed Party. As a result today Mr Nelson Chamisa within the MDC family represents a Child born out of Wedlock. He is a product of promiscuity. Mr Tsvangirai also made a pact w...
