Minister SB MOYO attacked in London .

Friday , 12 July 2019

 By Hosia Mviringi.

Yes it happened. And very well so that Minister SB Moyo was attacked today at Catham House in the heart of the British Political Capital London.

It is common cause that under normal circumstances and in all Diplomatic Protocols and procedures visiting foreign dignitaries are accorded befitting security by the host government.
But today in london not even peace corps were seconded both to the Zimbabwean Consulate and at Catham House were Minister SB Moyo was set to make a presentation.

Threats of violence by MDC activists in London have been gathering momentum some three weeks back. But still the British government did not think that it was necessary to take some contingency measures to protect a visiting dignitory.
It however still remains to be confirmed if the Zimbabwean ambassodor Colonel Christian Katsande had indeed made such a request to the British authorities.

If that request was made and turned down then the British Ambassodor to Zimbabwe Ms Mellanie Robinson will have to be summoned to give a satisfactory explanation.
Yet if such a request was never made then our Ambassador to the UK should be summoned back to Harare as soin as Minister Moyo returns. He should give a satisfactory explanation to the people of Zimbabwe or else he should lose his job.

As I write this piece a chill runs down the spine as I try to ponder what could have befallen Minister Moyo today in a foreign country.
In this day and age anything is possible.Such kind of a security breach should never have a place in our conduct.

Nobody knows what that water contained. He could as well have been poisoned through that water attack.Worse still what if someone had a weapon of any callibre ? It could easily have gone gotten tragic.
We leave that to the government to investigate.

However it is the violent nature of the MDC which takes prominence in this whoke episode.
The MDC Diaspora through the coordination , funding and abetting by the party's newly appointed Foreign secretary Gladys Hlatswayo mobilised and carefully choreographed today's incided.
And they executed it very well.
These are the acts of violence that has made it very difficult to imagine the MDC protesting peacefully in Zimbabwe.

Today we witnessed a certain level of provocation by the MDC which no other security conscious government on earth would entertain. But today we witnessed a certain degree of tolerance by the government of Zimbabwe which is unprecedented.

We all remember how the security details of the former President Robert Mugabe would slap and kick one gay activist Peter Thatchel at Heathrow Airport until his face turned pale.
Today we could still have done it but we witnessed unparalleled restraint by the security details who themselves had to endure some thorough pelting by the overzealous female protesters.

Now these are exactly the kind of provocative actions which under normal circumstance here at home cajole the security aparatus to act in intervention.
The MDC will be using such tactics as this one to try to force the strong arm of government to act against them so that they justify their allegations of human rights abuse  by the government. But which other government would not act in the face off such abuse of freedoms ?

It may also be pertinent to note that the British are not as foolish as some would want to believe. The MDC Alliance are the most naive and foolish people who can not read the aur in season. They cant see that they are being set up by the British so that they prove beyond reasonable doubt to the wirld that indeed they are a violent party that is not worth talking to.
And they continuously fall into that trap.

Last year when Nelson Chamisa visited London for his Catham House appearance of shame there was violence which was perpetrated by his. supporters.
Now does it take a rocket scientist to see why Chamisa has been denied a UK Visa on three occassions this year alone ?

Mr Nelson Chamisa has suffered from failed diplomacy. He is a man who thinks that guerrila warfare still works in this age.Thats very primitive of him.
We are now in the diplomatic era where even Donald Trump could not fire a projectile at North Korea but chose the path of dialogue and diplomacy.

This childish militancy being practised by the likes of Ostalos Siziba is just achaic and thus have no place in today's political arena.
Nelson Chamisa's international standing has suffered beyond redemption and thus his political star fast waning into obscurity.
He cant be taken seriously anymore.

In any case the world can not stop because of one little poor boy who loves power so desperately that he disregards all fuculties of common sense. He is finished. His role now remains only as a place holder in the opposition political fraternity, but he remains just but a shadow of himself.

However we cant ignore the criminal nature of the actions taken in London today by that handful of hired MDC activists.
You dont commit crime in broad daylight all in the name of protesting. This violence is all that is needed to discredit whatever genuine grievances there may be.

They now cease to be activists but criminals who should be dealt with and punished by the Law.Even the pink nosed British protesters know that they automatically lose their rights to protest peacefully the moment they breach peace. No government of sane people would give up the need for peace even for a day all for the sake of a protest by a handful of asylum seekers. No !

In January 2019 we witnessed a treasonous incident at the Zimbabwean Consulate in London where the Portrait of the Head Of State and Government President Mnangagwa was removed and replaced by that of one Nelson Chamisa. That is abolutely unacceptable anywhere else. But because we embaced a cotton wool approach and ordered a great deal of kids' gloves it was let to pass.

It will be important to remember that such embarassing violence happened again to Cde Patrick Chinamasa when he was still Finance Minister. The same culprits arw seeking to entrech and sustain this culture which they plan to take further up the the Head of State and Government President ED Mnangagwa.

I dont think that this is a sustainable path.Something indeed has to give.Sanity will have to prevail one day.Culprits will need to taste their own portion one day.
Meanwhile one hopes that due processes will take place

Kutsho mina !

After 23 years, UK-ZIM relations thawing

#SundayMussings  Prof. Jonathan Moyo It's International Relations 101 that a penchant for and infatuation with trivialities is not part of diplomacy, it's trivial pursuit. With this in mind, one does not have to hold a brief for anyone to understand that the coronation of King Charles III was essentially a showcase of an archaic and obnoxious tradition of hereditary rule - frowned upon in most parts of the world now under republican rule of one sort or another, while still a big deal in the United Kingdom of once upon a time, Great Britain - that dates back some 1,000 years ago. There’s therefore nothing geopolitically significant or even interesting about that primitive culture, where someone called Charles was crowned head of state by virtue of his birth at a ceremony where "His Majesty's Government" had no qualms about displaying the full repertoire of imperial loot like the stolen African Star and majestic gold from former British colonies, many of whose lead...

In defence of Lindiwe Sisulu - SA Constitution not Sacred, Judges not demi-gods

Professor Arthur Mutambara The SA Constitution is not Sacred and SA Judges are not Demigods.   By Arthur Guseni Oliver Mutambara 13 January 2022   Minister Lindiwe Sisulu penned an opinion piece on 7 January 2022 titled: ‘Hi Mzansi, have we seen justice?’  It was quite a refreshing critique of the challenges confronting South Africa.  Sisulu’s right to express herself and the content of her remarks must be vigorously defended without equivocation or ambiguity. On 8 January 2022, soon after I read the opinion piece, I publicly expressed the following remarks: ‘Wow, what a piece by Lindiwe Sisulu. I am pleasantly surprised that some in the ANC still get it and are prepared to articulate it eloquently. The issue is how to get such incisive thinking to influence the ANC and the country's direction. Is it a lost cause?’ I stand by these utterances. There has been quite several articles and remarks attacking Minister Sisulu. The ba...
LAWYERS DEMO : DELIVERY OF JUSTICE OR PROTECTING THE CASH COW ?   By Hosia Mviringi 31 January 2019 On 29 January 2019 the nation woke up to the news that Lawyers under the banner of the Law Society of Zimbabwe was demonstrating against lack of or misdelivery of justice in the Courts in Zimbabwe. I write this article with a heavy heart knowing that my brother is a loyal member of the fraternity.I will try to be professional and speak my mind. What baffles the mind is the fact that the Lawyers are officers of the same Courts which they have served under the Law Society of Zimbabwe in defence of the accused for many years since independence. They have not seen this so called misdelivery of justice until only yesterday after the violent demonstration of the 14th of January 2019. What has changed now to warrant the demonstration by the Lawyers against the same Courts to which they have served or are serving as officers and partners ? Lets try to unpack the conundrum. Soon...
